Hi,
I do know about one poorhouse in Groton. My husband’s paternal lines go back to a woman, Esther (Nutting) Lawrence who died 07 Mar 1844 in “Poor house, School District No. 4, Groton”. Her husband John Lawrence was still living in Groton at the time. I have been unable to find anything more out about this poorhouse.
Thank you for trying to compile this information.

I found a Poor Farm indicated on the 1870 census for my ancestors Milo and Lavinia Robbins in Pepperell. It looks like they were managing it on the 1965 census as well, as there were several “paupers” listed at their residence along with their children.
