This picture was taken of the Beverly High School band during a rehearsal. The man in the picture who is the conductor is Ray Novack. The band is an important part of life for about 100 students, as it is very time demanding and hard work. The band is significant locally because it plays at home football games and performs concerts for the community. Also the band competes within the state, nationally, and internationally against other bands and this year the band will be competing in Toronto Canada.
The band is an activity open to all Beverly High School students. Most of the students that participate in band do it for fun and because they love music. This picture only shows a snap shot of the current 2005 band. Each graduating class is immortalized in the band room with their senior pictures. Seniors from this band year graduate and the freshman will replace them. Hopefully though the BHS band program will always continue. Those are the reasons why the band as my postcard.
